JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision and direction of the Irwin Center Manager and the Customer Service Coordinator, the Customer Service Agent is responsible for communicating with the public in-person or by phone and registering for various programs under the guidelines set forth. Works hours as assigned including days, nights, weekends. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
- Greet visitors promptly and courteously.

Answer telephones, refer calls, take messages and give out information concerning Park District's programs, policies and general services.

Take registrations for Park District leisure services both in person and over the phone.

Process seasonal pool pass registrations.

Balance daily registration monies for Irwin Community Center.

Process building and park rentals. Complete all necessary forms.

Open and disburse mail.

Enter attendance data as needed, file appropriately.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Safety Manual.

Help with various projects as time permits.
- Other related job duties as assigned.
COGNITIVE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be able to assist customers both in person and by phone in a professional and courteous manner.

Must be able to register participants for various programs with consistency and accuracy.
- Must be able to handle pressure and an active front desk environment.
- Must be able to communicate with all departments.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Graduation from high school or business school.
- Public experience, telephone business experience, general office and computer skills required.
- Should be aware that working for the public takes tact and diplomacy at all times.
