Company Description: ABLG (Above and Beyond Learning Group) is a therapeutic intervention agency providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with Autism and related disorders, ages 18 months through early adulthood. Experienced staff deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, community settings and supported employment, offering families flexible and comprehensive support.
ABLG is a New Jersey State-approved agency through the Department of Education, and its billing department skillfully navigates ABA coverage through qualifying insurance plans. The organization’s mission is to deliver best-practice ABA therapy, educate families and communities, and provide strong clinical support to both caregivers and teams. Additional services include Shadowing/Support in General Education and Special Education classrooms, Comprehensive Assessments and analyses, behavior reduction planning, workshops, parent training, and school district consultation.
Role Description: The Registered Behavior Technician/ Behavior Technician (RBT/BT) is a full-time or part-time on-site role based in our on-site and off-site locations throughout NJ. In this position, the therapist will implement;
- ABA treatment plans, provide direct one-to-one therapy, and collect accurate data on targeted skills and behaviors across home, school, and community settings.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include following individualized behavior intervention plans, supporting skill acquisition (communication, social, daily living), and collaborating closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), families, and educational teams.
- The therapist will participate in supervision, contribute to progress reports, and maintain clear documentation in accordance with clinical and agency standards.
- Additional tasks may include assisting with parent training sessions, reinforcing positive behaviors, and promoting safety, organization, and consistency in all therapeutic environments.
Qualifications:
- Solid foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis and Behavior Analysis, with the ability to implement behavior intervention plans and follow ABA protocols.
- Background or education in Psychology or related fields, supporting an understanding of developmental and behavioral needs.
- Demonstrated experience and comfort working with children, particularly those with Autism or related developmental disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain it; previous ABA or behavioral health experience is highly beneficial.
- Ability to maintain detailed data and documentation, follow clinical guidelines, and adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Reliable transportation to and from ABLG centers and local client sites; ability to meet the physical demands of working directly with children.
- High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, ABA, or a related field is highly preferred.
