Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Coding Camp Instructor to teach engaging in-person sessions for children aged 5–14. This is a part-time role requiring up to 30 hours per week, ideal for individuals passionate about working with kids and advancing their own skills in STEM.
This role is a one-of-a-kind opportunity in The City of Conroe to not only inspire the next generation but also gain valuable experience in the fast-growing fields of coding and robotics.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage and Teach: Lead fun and interactive coding and robotics sessions for children using provided lesson plans and materials.
- Learn and Grow: Complete our training program to master basic coding and robotics concepts.
- Inspire Creativity: Encourage children to think creatively and explore problem-solving through hands-on projects.
- Demonstrate Leadership: Manage classroom activities, guide group projects, and ensure a smooth, enjoyable learning experience.
- Foster a Positive Environment: Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where children feel comfortable learning and experimenting.
- Be Punctual and Reliable: Arrive on time, prepared and ready to lead each session.
Qualifications
- Passion for Working with Kids: A love for teaching, coaching, or mentoring children.
- Leadership Skills: Confidence in leading small groups and managing classroom dynamics.
- Willingness to Learn: No coding experience required; we’ll train you!
- Punctuality and Reliability: A commitment to timeliness and consistency.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and team members.
Preferred Traits
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or childcare.
- Interest in STEM, coding, robotics, video games or education.
