The Admissions Director is responsible for driving occupancy growth by building strong referral relationships, generating new business opportunities, and managing the admissions process from referral to move-in. This role serves as the primary liaison between the community and referral partners while providing exceptional customer service to prospective residents and their families.
The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional with healthcare experience who enjoys networking, developing partnerships, and achieving census goals.
Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, rehabilitation centers, home health agencies, hospice providers, and other healthcare professionals.
Conduct regular sales calls, networking visits, and community outreach to generate qualified referrals.
Represent the organization at healthcare events, community functions, and professional meetings.
Create and implement marketing strategies that increase occupancy and strengthen the organization's reputation.
Track referral activity, conversion rates, and census trends to identify growth opportunities.
Manage the admissions process from initial inquiry through resident move-in.
Review referrals to ensure they meet clinical, financial, and operational criteria.
Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth and timely admissions.
Provide tours and educate prospective residents and families about available services.
Maintain accurate admission records and required documentation.
Deliver a positive and responsive experience for residents, families, and referral partners.
Respond promptly to inquiries and maintain regular communication throughout the admissions process.
Build trust through professionalism, follow-through, and relationship management.
Ensure all admissions comply with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and protect resident information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Participate in quality improvement and regulatory survey activities as needed.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
Two or more years of experience in healthcare admissions, sales, marketing, business development, or census management.
Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, long-term care, or home health preferred.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record or CRM systems.
