Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated MDU Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems, including fiber optics and low voltage cabling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network installation and field service, with hands-on experience using various tools and equipment related to cabling and telecommunications.
Duties
- Install and maintain fiber optic cabling and associated hardware.
- Perform network installations, including setting up Cisco routers and other networking equipment.
- Conduct fiber splicing and ensure proper connectivity for telecommunication services.
- Utilize hand tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service during installations and repairs, addressing any client concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used during installations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cable installation or related field service roles.
- Experience in Fiber Splicing and wall fishing
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and telecommunication systems.
- Familiarity with Ethernet technology and telephony systems.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Experience with low voltage cabling techniques is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams related to network installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
