Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in customer service, sales, and merchandising, providing an engaging shopping experience for our customers. This role involves assisting customers with product selection, managing transactions, and maintaining an organized sales floor. Bilingual skills and previous retail or grocery store experience are a plus, as is familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures. The Sales Associate will play a vital role in driving sales through upselling and product demos while ensuring excellent communication and phone etiquette.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Perform product demos to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Upsell complementary products to increase sales and enhance customer satisfaction
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked appropriately
- Handle stock replenishment, inventory management, and proper stocking procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
- Manage cash handling accurately, including cashiering duties during shifts
- Assist with basic retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and totals
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor environment
- Support supervising staff when needed by overseeing daily store operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales, grocery stores, or similar environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math calculations
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette
- Ability to perform upselling and product demonstrations effectively
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
- Supervising experience is a plus but not required; leadership qualities are valued
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining attention to detail
