Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Cabinet Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing custom cabinetry using CAD design software, producing accurate shop drawings, and collaborating with customers, sales staff, and production teams to ensure high-quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing cabinet solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design custom residential cabinetry using CAD software.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, shop drawings, and production-ready plans.
- Interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Develop layouts that maximize functionality while meeting design standards and customer expectations.
- assist in preparing cut-lists and occasional hardware specifications.
- Revise designs based on customer feedback and project requirements.
- Maintain organized project documentation and design files.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in cabinet design or woodworking design.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, SketchUp, or similar design programs.
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction methods, materials, and hardware.
- Ability to read architectural plans and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CNC manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of kitchen, bath, and commercial cabinetry standards.
- Familiarity with estimating and material optimization.
