Overview
We are seeking a motivated Weekend Shift Machinist to join our team from Friday through Monday. In this role, you will operate and set up our mill and or lathe CNC machines, to produce high-precision components. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and technical programming will ensure our products meet exact specifications while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc controls to produce complex parts with precision.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, tooling changes, and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols including the use of hand tools, power tools, equipment, and forklift operation when necessary.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and maintaining high-quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and CAM software for efficient machine setup.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of tooling, assembly techniques, plastics injection molding, and welding.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately while applying GD&T principles.
- Experience using precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining tasks.
