Playroom Manager – SHIFT Work + Play
Supervise play sessions for children ages 18 months–6 years in a safe, engaging, and creative environment.
About Us
SHIFT Work + Play is a coworking space designed for parents, where children can play safely and creatively while caregivers work. Our playroom staff are essential to our mission, providing hands-on supervision, leading crafts and activities, and creating a welcoming environment for all families.
The Role
We are hiring a Playroom Manager to supervise children ages 18 months–6 years old during morning and afternoon play sessions. Occasionally, we support siblings up to age 8 when Frederick County Public Schools are closed. The Playroom Manager will also have the option to work during our monthly Parents' Night Out, where siblings up to age 10 are welcome.
We are looking to hire one primary person to fill this role. This position is year-round, ideal for graduate students, retirees, or anyone with a flexible schedule who can adapt to occasional reductions in hours (afternoon shifts are occasionally canceled). A minimum of 20 paid hours per week is guaranteed; the typical work week is between 30–34 paid hours.
While our preference is one person covering the full schedule, we are open to splitting the role between two people — either by AM/PM shifts or by days of the week. If you are interested in part-time coverage, please indicate your availability in your application.
