Position Summary
Tri State is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the Company's installation and program operations. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of operational activities including manpower planning, project execution, subcontractor management, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, and continuous process improvement.
The Operations Manager will provide direct leadership to the Installation Manager and Program Manager while working closely with the Support Manager, Engineering, Sales, and Business Administration to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in low-voltage systems, life safety, telecommunications, networking, security, or related construction industries. This individual must possess exceptional leadership skills, be highly organized, and have the ability to manage multiple teams and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all installation and program operations.
- Directly supervise the Installation Manager, Program Manager and Project Managers.
- Oversee project execution from award through closeout to ensure schedule, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Coordinate with Installation Manager to manage manpower planning and resource allocation across multiple projects and locations.
- Monitor project financial performance, labor utilization, and productivity metrics.
- Work with the GM to develop and implement operational processes, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee subcontractor utilization, performance, and compliance with Company standards.
- Conduct periodic job site visits and support project teams in resolving operational challenges.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Business Administration, and Support teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review project documentation, change orders, schedules, and closeout packages.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and succession planning for operational staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in operations, project management, or field leadership within one or more of the following industries:
- Low-voltage systems
- Physical security systems
- Telecommunications
- Network infrastructure
- Fire alarm systems
- Electrical construction
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing supervisors, managers, or multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, labor forecasting, and resource management.
- Experience managing subcontractors and customer relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
- Familiarity with CCTV, Access Control (PACS), Fire Alarm, Structured Cabling, Wireless Networking, and Enterprise Network Infrastructure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal government, USPS, or other public-sector projects.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- PMP, NICET, BICSI, or other industry certifications.
- Experience implementing operational KPIs, dashboards, and process improvement initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
