Rent A Can is seeking a detail-oriented Billing & Collections Specialist to support our accounting operations across two rental divisions of our business. If you're highly organized, comfortable working with numbers, proficient in computer systems and Microsoft Office, and enjoy collaborating with others, this is a great opportunity to join a supportive, hardworking team in a stable and growing industry.
What You'll Do
- Enter and maintain accurate billing and accounts receivable data.
- Review billing statements, invoices, and related documents for accuracy.
- Answering calls and contacting customers to resolve billing issues and ensure accounts are current.
- Manage past-due accounts by arranging payment plans or coordinating resolution.
- Research, compile, and track data related to collection efforts.
- Prepare and distribute accounting reports as needed.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as mail distribution, phone calls, and other office support.
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated
- Good with numbers and basic math skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bookkeeping or accounting training (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Able to sit for long periods and work at a computer.
- Comfortable speaking with customers over the phone.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
