EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Monitor assigned recreational pool area to detect hazards, disturbances, or safety infractions, by practicing preventative lifeguarding.Recognize and respond effectively in emergenciesEnforce all City of Wichita Parks pools policies and proceduresInstructs Swim LessonsAssists with daily incident and cash reportsAssists with scheduling staff, and serves as liaison between the pool manager and pool staffParticipate in regular in-service trainingAssist in cleaning the facility and related areas and maintenance and operation of pool equipmentThese examples are not intended to be all-inclusive. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Required Experience and TrainingMust be at least 18 years old or older2 years of experience as a lifeguard.Have a current American Red Cross CPR-PR, First Aid, and LGT.Applicants must satisfactorily demonstrate required skills including swimming, CPR-PR and first aid.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship. Preferred Experience and TrainingA current WSI and/or LGI certification.Offers of employment are contingent upon passing American Red Cross Lifeguarding, pre-employment drug screening, respirator testing, and upon satisfactory evaluation of a criminal record check.
