15-Attorney Construction Litigation Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale is looking for a Florida-licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience with Construction Litigation in FL.
This is a 100% REMOTE position as long as you live in Florida!
Our firm has experienced significant and aggressive growth over the past few years, and we are seeking a client-service-oriented, full-time construction litigation associate attorney experienced in handling disputes between contractors and owners to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of construction litigation matters from pre-suit through trial.
- Represent owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers in construction disputes.
- Handle claims involving construction defects, contract disputes, payment disputes, lien foreclosures, bond claims, delay claims, and warranty issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
- Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal advice to clients.
- Work closely with experts, consultants, and clients throughout all phases of litigation.
- Negotiate settlements when appropriate while aggressively advocating for clients' interests.
- Prepare cases for trial and actively participate in trial proceedings.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
- Minimum of five (5) years of construction litigation experience in Florida.
- Strong knowledge of Florida construction law, construction contracts, mechanic's liens, payment and performance bonds, and construction defect litigation.
- Experience handling complex commercial litigation matters.
- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload with minimal supervision.
- Trial and arbitration experience is highly preferred.
