We're looking for a motivated Commercial Insurance Producer who enjoys building relationships, meeting business owners, and growing a book of business. While your primary focus will be commercial insurance, you'll also have opportunities to write personal lines and cross-sell existing clients when appropriate.

What You'll Do
- Develop new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and community involvement.
- Build relationships with business owners throughout Central Florida.
- Quote and write commercial insurance policies through multiple insurance carriers.
- Work closely with underwriters to place a variety of commercial risks.
- Conduct coverage reviews and identify opportunities to better protect clients.
- Cross-sell personal insurance when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client records within our agency management system.
- Represent Smith & Thomas Insurance professionally in the community.
This position includes both inside and outside sales. You'll spend time meeting with business owners, networking in the community, visiting prospects, and working from our Lakeland office.

You'll primarily work with businesses such as:
- Churches and religious organizations
- Private Schools
- Professional offices (law firms, veterinary practices, dental and medical offices)
- Contractors
- Retail businesses
- Offices and service businesses
- Nonprofit organizations
- Other Main Street commercial accounts
Qualifications
Required
- Active Florida 2-20 Property & Casualty License
- Valid driver's license
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Professional appearance and attitude
Preferred
- Commercial insurance experience
- Independent agency experience
- Existing relationships within the Central Florida business community
- Experience with agency management systems

This is a production-driven role with the expectation that commission will become the primary driver of compensation as your book of business grows.
