Full Job Description:
General Summary of Duties:
The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for our clients. The front desk receptionist is responsible for registering patients for their appointments, verifying patient demographics, collecting co-payments, and answering phones calls.
The Patient Access is a front-line customer service role. Responsible for coordinating the delivery of quality care and services and is an essential part of the primary care team. The primary focus of this role is assisting patients with community resources, medical records, obtaining a primary care provider, and general information. Must have a self-starting personality, enjoy patient care, and desire to enhance patient relations while maintaining efficiency.
Primary responsibilities:
Works closely with NBMC primary care, internal medicine, and specialty providers along with community resources to assist in the coordination of care for patients of all ages with complex and chronic health care needs. Provide support, education and information to patients and providers. Schedule new patient appointments upon new provider acceptance. Triaging patient concerns/problems. Set up new patient accounts, verify insurance and demographics. Responsible for overflow check in process including maintaining a cash drawer and balancing funds at the end of each shift.
Essential responsibilities:
- Facilitate primary care provider assignment.
- Assist patients with records release, Release of information forms, and intake forms.
- Participation in quality improvement activities.
- Maintaining spreadsheets for quality improvement data and tracking
- Facilitate Advanced Directives and POLST paperwork.
- Assist patients with MyChart support.
- Greet patients as they check in for their appointments.
- Verify patients’ information and insurance coverage to determine the information is correct, make necessary changes as required for their service or procedure.
- Updates patient information, as received.
- Balance cash drawer at end of day
- Complete special project that may arise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- must be willing to make announcements over the intercom in case of a fire.
- Knowledge of insurances and Epic experience is strongly recommended.
