Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax compliance and consulting services for a diverse portfolio of corporate, partnership, and individual clients. The Tax Manager will oversee preparation and review of complex tax returns, provide tax planning and research, manage client relationships, and mentor staff to ensure accurate, timely, and tax-efficient results while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Key Responsibilities-
Oversee and review preparation of corporate (C and S), partnership (including complex partnership allocations and K-1s), and individual tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Manage tax engagements from planning through delivery, including client communications, timelines, and deliverables.

Provide tax planning, research, and technical guidance to clients and internal teams on issues such as partnership tax matters, entity selection, mergers & acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.

Review and prepare federal, state, and local tax provision calculations and related documentation.

Supervise, mentor, and develop senior staff and associates; delegate assignments, review workpapers, and provide constructive feedback to grow technical skills and client service capabilities.

Coordinate and conduct tax research using primary sources and commercial research tools; prepare memos and present findings to clients and partners.

Serve as primary point of contact for client relationships, cultivating trusted advisor status through proactive communication and value-added recommendations.

Identify process improvements and leverage tax software (e.g., CCH, UltraTax, Lacerte) and automation tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Assist with tax notices, audits, and dispute resolution with tax authorities when necessary.

Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and cross-selling firm services.
Qualifications-
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master of Taxation or MBA preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

Minimum 58 years of progressive tax experience, with prior Tax Manager or senior level public accounting experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience with partnership tax (including complex allocations and K-1 preparation), corporate tax, and individual tax matters.

Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, and experience performing tax research and preparing technical memos.

Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience presenting tax positions to clients and coaching staff.

Proficiency with tax preparation and research software (e.g., CCH, UltraTax, Lacerte, Thomson Reuters) and advanced Excel skills.

High level of integrity, professional judgment, and client service orientation.

Willingness to contribute to firm growth through business development and marketing activities.
