Construction Instructor Aide
- Location: Ebensburg, Pa
- Pay Rate: $15.00/hr
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3pm
What will you be doing?
The Construction Instructor Aide assists the lead instructor with classroom and hands-on construction training. This position provides support to students during instruction, helps maintain a safe and organized learning environment, and assists with preparing materials, tools, and equipment for training activities.
- Assist with lesson preparation by gathering materials, tools, and equipment and preparing the workspace for instruction.
- Provide hands-on support to students by demonstrating construction techniques, assisting with tasks, and reinforcing instructional concepts.
- Monitor student progress and provide guidance and constructive feedback to help students develop their skills.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.
- Ensure students properly use tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety procedures.
- Encourage and motivate students by providing positive reinforcement and helping them remain engaged and focused during training.
- Assist the lead instructor with evaluating student work and documenting student progress.
- Prepare, organize, and distribute instructional materials, handouts, and other training resources.
- Inspect, organize, and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are clean, safe, and in good working condition.
- Assist with routine maintenance of tools and equipment as needed.
- Support the lead instructor with classroom management and daily training activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What are the Job Requirements?
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in construction, skilled trades, or a related field required.
- Knowledge of basic construction methods, tools, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to safely operate and demonstrate the proper use of common construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate instructions and work with individuals of varying skill levels.
- Patient, dependable, and able to encourage and motivate students in a learning environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks associated with construction training.
- Clearances: Drug Test, PA State Criminal Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting, Act 31, Physical & TB Test
