Duties
- Safely operate a cargo van to pick up and deliver goods across designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals.
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, heavy lifting skills, or equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
- Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures, and ensure all shipments are accurately documented.
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle to promote safety and efficiency during daily routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures during route driving to ensure safe transportation at all times.
Experience
- Previous delivery driver experience with a focus on route driving in a courier or box truck environment preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and courteously with clients.
- Experience working in warehouses or logistics environments involving moving, heavy lifting, or forklift operation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and commercial driving regulations is highly desirable.
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using tools like pallet jacks or forklifts when required.
- Demonstrated reliability in adhering to schedules while maintaining safety standards on the road.
