About the Position
This is a .5 FTE position for an Itinerant Beginning Instrumental Band Teacher that begins with the 2026-27 school year.
The Edmonds School District starts its elementary instrumental program in 6th grade. We offer Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone as the primary instruments and sometimes supplement with Alto Sax and Percussion. Classes meet twice a week for 45 minutes at each elementary school. This is an itinerant assignment that will provide the elementary instrumental program at multiple sites.
Preference will be given to candidates that currently have an ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsement. SIOP training and GLAD training offered by the Multilingual Education Department will be required for all new employees unless they can show evidence of having completed SIOP and GLAD training previously. Training will need to be completed within the first two years of employment.
Required Qualifications:
Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Music endorsement, or the ability to obtain one prior to the position start date.

Salary:
2025-26 Salary Schedule Range: $83,305 through $148,226 (2026-27 Salary Schedule not yet finalized). Placement on this salary schedule is determined by FTE and official documentation verifying Educational Level and Certificated Work Experience and will be prorated for less than a full year and/or FTE.
