Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This role supports efficient kitchen operations by maintaining a clean, organized workstation and ensuring food is prepared accurately and delivered promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, measuring, and portioning food items.
- Cook and assemble menu items according to recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, ovens, and sauté stations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage procedures.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth service operations.
- Maintain consistency in food preparation during high-volume periods.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a commercial kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in hot, noisy, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
- Manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment and prepare food safely.
Work Schedule
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
