Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, experienced CDL Class A Driver to join our team. In this local trucking role, you will transport landscape materials (soil, mulch, stone, plant material) and heavy equipment (skid steers, excavators) to various residential and commercial job sites. This is not just a "steering wheel" job; you will be responsible for securing loads, assisting with loading/unloading, and ensuring our job sites are supplied, all while returning home every night.
Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely operate Class A dump trucks, flatbeds, and lowboy trailers in local, heavy traffic, and residential neighborhoods.
- Loading/Unloading: Load and unload heavy materials, including trees, pallets of stone, bulk mulch, and equipment. Experience using loaders and skid steers. Use chains, binders, and straps to secure loads according to DOT regulations.
- Inspections: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic/paper logs, delivery receipts, and weight tickets.
- Team Collaboration: Actively assist landscape crews on-site with loading/unloading and general project support when not driving.
- Site Safety: Setup job perimeters, inspect sites for safe unloading locations, and guide helpers during unloading.
- Maintenance: Keep the interior and exterior of the truck clean and organized.
Requirements
- License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Medical Card: Current, valid DOT Medical Card.
- Experience: Minimum 5 year(s) of experience operating CDL equipment experience with dump trucks flatbeds and using skid steers and loaders is required.
- Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull 60+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Skills: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Reliability: Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with landscaping materials or machinery such as skid steers and loaders is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
