Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and power tools safely to cut, shape, and finish stone surfaces according to blueprint specifications
- Handle materials with care using forklifts and other equipment to transport slabs and fabricated components within the shop
- Follow detailed fabrication instructions, ensuring precise dimensional measurements and accurate assembly of countertops
- Use hand tools and machining equipment for polishing, finishing, and detailing stone surfaces to achieve high-quality results
- Adhere strictly to safety standards and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when necessary
- Conduct quality checks on finished products, ensuring they meet design specifications and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety protocols for materials handling and heavy equipment operation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or warehouse environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment used in stone fabrication or similar industries
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and use tape measures accurately for dimensional measurements
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments, including PPE use and safety protocol adherence
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or other heavy equipment
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with millwork or materials handling is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-through on blueprint specifications and quality standards
