Position Description Summary: AOC Metal Works is a provider of customized stamping and metal fabrication services with three locations in Virginia and one in Tennessee.
We are actively searching for skilled Material Handlers to support the various teams in our Chester plant by delivering and staging material for processing or for shipment. Attention to detail and precision in picking & putting away is critical for the successful candidate.
THESE ARE 2ND SHIFT POSITIONS.
STARTING PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE - MINIMUM $17.00 per hour
Principal Accountabilities: (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
- Using a seated forklift , pulling materials listed on production orders and delivering them to the appropriate work centers (e.g., lasers or turret press stations) just in time for use, ensuring production lines are continuously supplied.
- Organizing and storing materials in designated, safe, and easily accessible locations. Accurately identifying, labeling, and recording the location of all inventory
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and organized to maintain workflow efficiency
- Able to follow safety guidelines, wear required PPE, conduct pre-use inspections of equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for Position:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to properly operate an RF scanner is critical
- Previous forklift experience or certification required
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment
- Basic language skills. Able to read and comprehend basic instructions in English.
- Ability to work safely, wearing required PPE at all times
- Ability to work in a hot/cold (not climate controlled) warehouse environment
