Got you — Lead Detailer first. Here’s the version I’d actually put on Indeed for Elite Auto Detail, especially since you want someone capable of eventually handling jobs without you being there.
Job Overview
Elite Auto Detail is looking for an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Lead Automotive Detailer to join our growing team.
This is not just an entry-level wash position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands professional automotive detailing, and can eventually be trusted to complete jobs and manage a detailing schedule independently.
As a Lead Detailer, you will be responsible for completing high-quality interior and exterior details, maintaining our quality standards, properly using professional detailing equipment and chemicals, and helping oversee other detailers as the company expands.
There is significant opportunity for growth as we expand into additional mobile detailing vehicles and crews.
Duties
- Perform complete interior and exterior automotive details
- Deep clean carpets, seats, floor mats, plastics, leather, and other interior surfaces
- Perform shampooing, extraction, steam cleaning, and stain removal as needed
- Properly wash, decontaminate, dry, and protect vehicle exteriors
- Safely operate pressure washers, extractors, steamers, vacuums, polishers, air compressors, and other professional detailing equipment
- Perform machine polishing and paint correction when qualified
- Apply waxes, sealants, ceramic products, dressings, and other vehicle protection products
- Inspect completed vehicles and ensure they meet Elite Auto Detail quality standards before being returned to customers
- Identify areas requiring additional attention before considering a job complete
- Maintain detailing equipment, chemicals, towels, tools, and supplies
- Keep the work vehicle and work area clean and organized
- Communicate professionally with customers when necessary
- Help train and oversee additional detailers as the team grows
- Eventually take responsibility for completing assigned appointments and managing a detailing route independently
Qualifications
- Previous professional automotive detailing experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of interior and exterior detailing techniques
- Experience with extractors, steamers, pressure washers, polishers, and other detailing equipment preferred
- Paint correction and machine polishing experience is a major plus
- Ceramic coating experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable and able to arrive to scheduled jobs on time
- Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Comfortable working independently without constant supervision
- Professional and respectful around customers and their vehicles
- Able to work in a fast-paced mobile detailing environment
- Physically capable of standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and working around vehicles for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving habits preferred
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can become a dependable part of the company—not someone who needs to be constantly watched or reminded to finish the job correctly.
Quality matters. Customers are paying for professional detailing, and every vehicle should leave looking like it received professional-level work.
You should be able to recognize missed areas, solve problems on your own, work efficiently, and take responsibility for the final result.
Growth Opportunity
Elite Auto Detail is continuing to expand, including plans for additional mobile detailing vehicles and schedules.
A strong Lead Detailer can grow into operating their own daily schedule, leading another detailer or assistant, and taking greater responsibility for one of our mobile detailing setups.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and earn additional responsibility based on performance, reliability, and quality of work.
Pay: $21.50 - $28.00 per hour
