Williamson & Associates, Inc. is seeking a mid-to-senior level Building Exterior Consultant (Building Envelope) for our Atlanta, GA office.
About the Company
Williamson & Associates (W&A) is a professional consulting firm specializing in the watertightness and durability aspects of commercial building exterior construction. The firm provides a variety of consulting services with this focus, from review of Architectural drawings for new construction projects to investigations of existing buildings in order to determine the causes of leakage or distress in exterior wall and roofing assemblies.
Our field is focused on building exteriors and roofing, the materials and details which promote durable and watertight building envelopes versus poorly performing or leaking facilities and applying that knowledge to help Clients solve and prevent problems with their building facilities.
Our clients and projects are throughout the United States. As of 2019, W&A is a wholly owned subsidiary of Curtainwall Design Consulting in Dallas, TX.
Qualifications
Successful candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Depth of knowledge and experience in construction, engineering, architecture, or building science technology;
- An interest in a career utilizing and developing their experience and education;
- Be able to participate in local market development and cultivate new and existing client contacts within the Atlanta, GA and Southeastern regions of the United States;
- Enjoy helping clients with applying knowledge in construction problem solving work;
- Be willing to collaborate with other regional offices and Corporate office located in Dallas, Texas;
- Be able to read and understand architectural drawings and technical specifications;
- Be able to work with clients and other consulting staff to develop new architectural details and/or remedial details and specifications for exterior building enclosure systems;
- Be able to work outdoors in the field observing installation on construction sites; performing existing wall condition surveys and performing diagnostic testing in accordance with industry standards;
- Be able to communicate and work both independently and within a team environment;
- Have excellent communication and writing skills;
- Possess a Bachelor's degree;
- Be a “self starter” that is driven to learn and take action;
- Be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat Pro;
- Be willing to travel when required to do so.
The following qualifications are considered a plus, but not required:
- Licensed (or working toward licensure) Architect or Engineer;
- Drafting experience or training;
- Previous technical writing experience or training;
- Participation in National Standards Committees.
