Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and portioning to meet presentation guidelines
- Follow food handling protocols to prevent contamination and ensure freshness of ingredients
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and delivery of orders
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service environment, preferably in a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including slicing, dicing, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Demonstrated knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members and ensure smooth kitchen operations
