Sun Bright Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced English teacher to provide high-quality instruction to high school students in both academic English and standardized test preparation (SAT/PSAT).
Note: SAT/PSAT pay rate is $30-35/hr, regular academic rate is $27-$30 depends on prior teaching experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in English, Education, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with high school students.
- Strong knowledge of SAT and PSAT English/Reading/Writing sections.
- Excellent grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and communication skills.
- Ability to teach students with varying skill levels in both one-on-one and small-group settings.
- Familiarity with high school English curriculum and college readiness standards.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to track student progress.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping students succeed academically.
Responsibilities
- Teach high school English concepts, including reading, writing, grammar, and literature analysis.
- Prepare students for SAT and PSAT English sections through targeted instruction and practice.
- Create lesson plans, assignments, and practice tests tailored to individual student needs.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the academy staff to support student academic goals.
Preferred Skills
- Experience teaching SAT/PSAT prep courses.
- Experience working with students in Frisco ISD, Prosper ISD, or similar school districts.
- Ability to motivate and mentor students toward higher academic achievement.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
