Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team in an aerospace facility. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and experience with various power tools and hand tools. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production process by assisting with assembly, fabrication, and the operation of various tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and power tools to assist in the assembly of products on the production line.
- Assist with work in the machine shop using drills, saws and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Mixing and pouring resin.
- Fabricate components as needed, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow on the assembly line.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
- Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing facility is preferred.
- Familiarity with assembly line processes and techniques.
- Experience using power tools, hand tools and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing task as needed.
- Must pass criminal background check
