We are a growing metal finishing and special processes company serving aerospace, military, defense, and commercial industries. We are seeking a detailed-oriented and organized Job Planner to support incoming customer orders, work instruction preparation, customer communication, and documentation control activities.
Position Summary
The Job Planner is responsible for reviewing customer purchase orders, blueprints, specifications, and flow down requirements and converting that information into accurate production travelers and work instructions for shop personnel to process parts in compliance with customer, aerospace, military, and NADCAP requirements.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring all required processing instructions, specifications, certifications, revisions, and quality requirements are properly documented before work is released to production.
The job planner also serves an important customer service role by communicating with customers regarding missing information, specification clarification, certifications, and job status updates when required.
Responsibilities
- Review incoming purchase orders, blueprints, specifications, and customer documentation
- Interpret customer flow down requirements and processing instructions
- Create detailed work orders (job travelers) for production personnel
- Ensure all processing instructions comply with customer, aerospace, military, and NADCAP requirements
- Verify specifications, revisions, certifications, and special processing requirements prior to release to production
- Contact customers regarding missing, incomplete, or unclear information on purchase orders, drawings, or specifications
- Coordinate with receiving inspection, quality, production, and shipping departments
- Prepare and maintain accurate production documetation and processing records
- Assist with certification packages and shipping documentation as needed
- Provide customer service support including job status communication when required
- Maintain accurate records in computer systems and spreadsheets
Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, metal finishing, special processes, machining, or related industries preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with aerospace, military, and customer specifications
- Understanding NADCAP and/or AS9100 environments preferred
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Strong organization and multitasking skills
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and data entry systems
- Ability to professionally communicate with customers and internal departments
- Dependable in fast paced manufacturing environment

- Full-time position
- Shift: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Pay is based on experience
- Health Physical including drug and alcohol testing required prior to hiring
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
