Job Summary
The Director has overall responsibility for operation of the Learning Academy, including maximizing profitability and meeting defined fiscal goals and enrollment objectives. Ensures that the Learning Academy is operated in accordance with company policies and state licensing standards. Follows operating procedures to provide an educational, caring, and safe environment for children and families. Maintains highest standards by being visible and involved daily in the operations of the Learning Academy and meets licensing and educational standards at all times. Achieves profitability for the company through daily tasks related to new enrollment, retaining existing families and adherence to defined budgets. Promotes the positive image and supports the Mission Statement of Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academies in the community.

The Director’s qualifications must meet state licensing requirements for the position.
Job Responsibilities
Fiscal Responsibilities
§ Maintains an accurate financial accounting of the Learning Academy’s operation.
§ Ensures accuracy and timely collection of tuition in accordance with company policies and procedures.
§ Ensures that teacher salaries and spending fall in line with budgets.
Enrollment
§ Tracks and follows up with all inquiries, converts inquiries into parent tours, and converts tours into enrollments. Accurately reports withdrawals and new starts weekly.
§ Ensures that parents complete all Kids ‘R’ Kids and required state forms.
Center Staff
§ Maintains personnel records and ensures confidentiality.
§ Coaches and counsels staff.
§ Conducts performance reviews.
§ Ensures that all staff meet annual training requirements.
§ Ensures that all staff have a required comprehensive record’s check on file.
§ Ensures that each staff member receives and understands his/her job description, policies and procedures, and orientation materials.
Health & Safety Requirements
§ Maintains and Manages the Learning Academy in compliance with state and local regulations, and with the Learning Academy policies and procedures.
§ Understands and implements emergency procedures in case of emergency situations. When, necessary, can administer CPR/First Aid, including lifting and carrying injured children.
§ Trains staff in all center safety policies and procedures. Ensures that all staff members understand their roles in protecting the health and safety of the enrolled children.
§ Maintains up-to-date health records for all children and all staff members.
§ Implements all standards necessary to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment, including universal precautions.
§ Maintains a clean, safe, healthy environment through scheduled cleaning and frequent visual and documented checks.
§ Informs parents if their child has been exposed to a communicable disease.
§ Ensures that all staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid.
§ Establishes and maintains an emergency plan and emergency telephone numbers.
§ Conducts emergency drills in accordance with Learning Academy and licensing requirements.
§ Understands and implements policies related to the exclusion of an ill or infected child enrolled in the program.
Relationships with Families
§ Maintains effective communications with families. This includes, but not limited to, being avaible to families at their convenience, listening attentively to their concerns, and takes any and all appropriate actions.
§ Conducts parent meetings and other conferences as appropriate.
§ Regularly solicits feedback from parents in order to improve the center.
§ Familiarize the families of newly enrolled children with the Parent Handbook and policies and procedures of the school by conducting a pre-enrollment conference.
General
§ Manages the center in compliance with state and local regulations and with company policies and procedures.
§ Must be able to react quickly with sound judgment and problem-solving skills in complex and critical situations, such as injuries and accidents.
§ Must use excellent verbal and written communication skills with parents, children, and staff.
§ Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and holding children in accordance with local state requirements.
§ Maintains administrative records for the school.
§ Maintains appropriate, required records for staff and children.
§ Plans work schedules and supervises staff.
§ Evaluates staff performance.
§ Keeps fully apprised of all activities in the school.
§ Prepares and forwards reports and forms required by the Learning Academy.
§ Represents the interests of all Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academies in the community.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
