Job Overview
ProGrid is seeking a dependable, experienced, and highly skilled On-Call Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a self-motivated technician who can work independently, diagnose problems quickly, and complete a wide range of commercial and residential maintenance and repair services with minimal supervision.
Our technicians are dispatched to retail stores, restaurants, office buildings, apartment communities, and other commercial facilities to complete maintenance requests. Every day is different, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable handling multiple trades and delivering quality workmanship while maintaining a professional attitude with clients.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to assigned service calls throughout the Houston area and surrounding cities.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing issues including toilets, faucets, shut-off valves, drains, water lines, and minor leak repairs.
- Perform drywall repairs including patching, taping, floating, texturing, sanding, and painting.
- Install, repair, and replace floor and wall tile, grout, baseboards, and other finish materials.
- Perform door, lock, closer, hinge, panic hardware, and miscellaneous hardware repairs and installations.
- Complete minor electrical work including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, ballast/LED fixtures, GFCI devices, and basic troubleshooting.
- Install shelving, grab bars, wall-mounted fixtures, signs, TV mounts, and other commercial hardware.
- Repair ceiling systems including suspended ceiling tiles, grid repairs, and water-damaged areas.
- Perform roof leak diagnostics, install water diverters, and identify sources of water intrusion.
- Complete general carpentry, trim work, framing repairs, and miscellaneous handyman tasks.
- Perform pressure washing, facility cleanups, and other exterior maintenance when required.
- Document completed work by taking clear before-and-after photos.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide accurate updates throughout each service call.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company safety procedures.
- Identify additional repair opportunities when appropriate and communicate findings to management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial or residential maintenance, facilities maintenance, or general contracting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple trades.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Experience completing service calls from start to finish.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Must own basic hand tools and power tools necessary to perform daily work.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work from ladders when necessary.
- Comfortable using smartphones for communication, navigation, and submitting job photos.

Pay: $70.00 - $250.00 per day
