Ascension Recovery Services (ARS), the nation's first Substance Use Disorder Management Services Organization (SUD-MSO), has partnered with LifeSpring Recovery of Andover LLC to launch an 80-bed detox and residential substance use disorder treatment center serving the greater Wichita region.

About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering safe, evidence-based medical care to individuals receiving detoxification and residential treatment services. As an essential member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, the RN conducts assessments, administers medications, monitors patient health, responds to medical concerns, and supports a safe, therapeutic environment.
This position helps ensure nursing services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and the organization's commitment to high-quality, person-centered care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Assessment
- Conduct nursing assessments and identify patient risks and healthcare needs.
- Monitor withdrawal symptoms, vital signs, and overall patient stability.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Respond to medical concerns and provide direct nursing interventions as needed.
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care.
Medication Management
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely.
- Monitor patients for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records (MARs).
- Collaborate with pharmacy and medical providers regarding medication orders and reconciliation.
Care Coordination & Collaboration
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and recovery support staff to support patient outcomes.
- Coordinate care with hospitals, physicians, pharmacies, and community providers as appropriate.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality standards.
Milieu Support & Safety
- Promote a safe, structured, and recovery-focused treatment environment.
- Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and patient safety initiatives.
- Support overall program operations and patient engagement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Two or more years of nursing experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, psychiatric care, or residential healthcare.
- Experience working in trauma-informed and recovery-oriented treatment environments.
Work Conditions / Physical & Mental Requirements
Work Environment
- Primarily indoors in a climate-controlled healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and computer use.
- Ability to assist with patient care activities and safely lift up to 50 pounds with appropriate support.
