Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Supervisor / General Contractor to oversee construction projects at our dental office. This is a part-time, on-site supervisory role suited to someone who can manage subcontractors, coordinate trades, and keep the project on schedule while minimizing disruption to ongoing patient care.
The renovation includes adding a new dental operatory, framing a new interior wall, relocating the mechanical equipment room, and eliminating an existing bathroom. Work will involve coordination across general construction, electrical, and plumbing trades within an occupied medical/dental office suite.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for all construction activity, coordinating daily work with subcontractors (framing, electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc.)
- Develop and maintain a project schedule, ensuring milestones are met and any delays are communicated promptly
- Review and enforce compliance with local building codes and permitting requirements specific to medical/dental office buildouts
- Coordinate scheduling to minimize disruption to active patient operations and adjacent tenant suites
- Conduct regular site walkthroughs to monitor quality, safety, and progress
- Communicate regularly with the practice owner/management on budget, timeline, and any change orders
- Ensure proper close-out documentation, inspections, and final walkthrough sign-off
Qualifications
- Must have a Commercial Construction License in Massachusetts (as the permit will be under your license).
- Extensive on-site construction experience across various phases of building projects.
- Proven experience as a general contractor or construction supervisor, ideally with healthcare, dental, or medical office buildout experience
- Familiarity with Massachusetts building codes and permitting processes
- Experience coordinating multiple trades (framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC) on a single project
- Comfortable working in or around an active, occupied office environment
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
