Position Title: Industrial Controls Technician
Salary: $62,400-$83,200/year
Shift: 2nd
Hours: 3:00pm-11:00pm
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Technician to join a maintenance team supporting a highly automated manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical, automation, and mechanical systems that support production equipment and facility operations. The ideal candidate has strong experience with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, industrial controls, robotics, motors, conveyors, electrical troubleshooting, and manufacturing maintenance. Industrial Controls Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, servo drive, and industrial control issues
- Repair and maintain automated production equipment including Robotics, Conveyors, Extrusion equipment, Thermoforming lines, Slitting equipment, Flexographic printing equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, VFDs, servo motors, and motion control systems
- Install, test, repair, and optimize industrial electrical equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate repairs with vendors, contractors, and equipment manufacturers
- Source replacement parts and assist with inventory management
- Perform minor welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as needed
- Maintain maintenance logs and repair documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
Industrial Controls Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance or industrial controls experience
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting
- Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems
- Experience troubleshooting AC/DC motors, servo motors, drives, and industrial controls
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Ability to safely use electrical test equipment including Multimeter, Voltmeter, Ohmmeter, Oscilloscope
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Preferred experience with one or more of the following: Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, Schneider Electric, Fanuc Robotics, Rexroth, Mitsubishi, Automation Direct, Baumüller, PLC Programming, HMI Programming, Servo Drives, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Robotics, Electro-hydraulic systems, Electro-pneumatic systems, Industrial automation, Plastic extrusion, Thermoforming, Flexographic printing, Food manufacturing, Packaging equipment, Continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, 5S
