Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient distribution, inventory control, and team management. This pivotal role involves coordinating logistics activities, supervising warehouse staff, and maintaining safety standards to support seamless supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a proactive approach to process improvement, contributing significantly to our operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and materials handling to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff, providing training and guidance to uphold safety standards and operational procedures.
- Manage inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and oversee inventory control processes to prevent discrepancies.
- Coordinate with logistics providers and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to optimize distribution schedules and delivery timelines.
- Oversee the operation of forklifts and other mechanical equipment safely in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse productivity, reduce errors, and streamline workflows.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including OSHA standards, and conduct regular safety audits.
- Maintain accurate shipping & receiving records, including documentation for heavy lifting and materials handling activities.
- Utilize systems such as AS400 for inventory tracking, order processing, and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support e-commerce fulfillment and overall supply chain efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or team management within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse distribution, logistics, and materials handling procedures.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts and mechanical equipment safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, and other relevant software tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehousing operations.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues when necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in shipping & receiving documentation.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a focus on safety and process improvement.
- Prior experience working with 3PL providers or in e-commerce fulfillment is advantageous.
