We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Resource Room Teacher to join our Team!
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in special education or related field; Masters preferred
State of Michigan teacher certificate with one of the following endorsements: SA, SC, SE, SM
Experience working with students in a variety of learning disabilities
Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education (SPED) laws
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
NATURE OF THE POSITION:
The Resource Room Teacher is committed to providing individualized attention and support to students who need it the most. You will play a critical role in helping students overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to support student learning.

Collaborate with regular education teachers and other special education staff to ensure a seamless educational experience for students.

Assess student progress and modify instruction as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and other important information.

Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders to keep them informed of student progress and any concerns.

Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and growth.

Additional duties as assigned
SKILLS:

Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff

Experience in behavior management and intervention strategies

Knowledge of current trends and best practices in special education

Advanced training in specific learning disabilities or disorders

Knowledge of assistive technology tools and resources

Ability to effectively differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
