Sr. Compensation Analyst

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst to support key compensation initiatives during a period of organizational growth and system transformation. This role requires a compensation professional with hands-on experience supporting unionized workforces and union compensation models. Candidates without union compensation experience will not be considered.
This position will partner closely with Human Resources and business leaders to support market pricing, compensation analysis, annual merit and incentive planning, and an upcoming HRIS transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct job evaluations and compensation analyses to ensure internal equity and external market competitiveness.
- Perform market pricing, salary benchmarking, and compensation studies.
- Support compensation programs within a unionized environment, including union pay structures, wage analyses, and contract-related compensation initiatives.
- Assist with annual merit increase and incentive compensation planning.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to provide compensation recommendations and guidance.
- Participate in compensation-related HRIS projects, including supporting an upcoming Workday implementation.
- Maintain salary structures and analyze benchmark survey data.
- Review and update job descriptions.
- Develop executive-level PowerPoint presentations that clearly communicate compensation data, trends, and recommendations.
- Create reports and analytical models using advanced Excel functions.
- Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes through automation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive compensation experience.
- REQUIRED: Experience supporting compensation programs for a unionized workforce, including union wage structures, union modeling, and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
- Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to present complex compensation data through charts, graphs, and executive presentations.
- Experience conducting market pricing, salary benchmarking, and compensation analysis.
- Experience with HRIS systems; Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Workday implementations or HRIS conversions.
- Experience managing annual merit increase and incentive compensation cycles.
- Experience presenting compensation recommendations to senior leadership.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a data-driven compensation professional with strong union compensation experience who enjoys partnering with business leaders to solve complex compensation challenges. They are highly proficient in Excel, comfortable creating executive presentations, and can clearly communicate the story behind the data. Experience supporting a Workday implementation is a significant plus.
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
