Key Responsibilities
- Conduct behind-the-wheel driving lessons following Ohio curriculum and safety protocols
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to students
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction, following curriculum and state regulations (For full license instructors)
- Communicate effectively with students and their guardians regarding progress
- Maintain accurate records of lessons and student progress
Qualifications
- Certified Driving Instructor License through the State of Ohio or ability to complete training
- Must be 21 years or older
- Valid driver’s license held for at least 5 years with no more than 4 points on driving record
- Willing to complete fingerprint background check and physical
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Enjoy working with teenagers and adults
- Comfort with using technology
- Availability to work evenings and weekends, as driving instruction often requires availability outside traditional hours
No Experience? No Problem! Become a Certified Instructor With Us.
If you are not yet certified – you can train with us. While completing your required certification, you will be paid minimum wage for training hours.
The Ohio Restricted Behind-the-Wheel Instructor license requires a total of 51 training hours.
This training combines:
- Basic Instructor coursework
- Theory (classroom-style learning, available online, virtual, or in-person)
- Administrative preparation
- Supervised behind-the-wheel practice
- Final assessment while teaching a student driver
Together, these activities ensure you are fully prepared to instruct students safely and effectively behind the wheel.
Job Details:
- Type: Part-time (20 hours per week), Full-time (30+ hours per week)
- Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, with opportunities for raises. Candidates holding Training Manager credentials may qualify for a higher starting wage
- Sign on Bonus: Current certified instructors receive $500 bonus after 160 hours worked

- Work Location: In person at our Dayton location
