About the Role
Premier Mechanical is seeking an Account Manager to join our Service Department. In this role, you will sell mechanical services to commercial customers throughout the greater Boston area — including preventive maintenance agreements, equipment replacements, retrofits, and other service work — and then manage those projects through to completion. You will own the customer relationship from the first site visit through final sign-off, serving as the single point of contact for both the sale and the work itself.
This position is a strong fit for someone with an HVAC or mechanical background who is ready to step into a customer-facing role that combines selling, relationship building, and running projects in the field.
What You’ll Do
Sales & Business Development
- Sell maintenance agreements, retrofits, equipment replacements, and other service work to commercial customers such as property managers, facility managers, building engineers, and ownership groups.
- Find new opportunities within our existing customer base and bring in new accounts.
- Visit customer sites to walk equipment, understand their needs, and figure out the right scope of work.
- Price and quote your own jobs. Our estimating team handles large construction work, but for service work, you will own the pricing and proposal from start to finish.
- Keep an active pipeline and report regularly on what’s coming in.
Project Management
- Run sold projects from contract through closeout — scheduling, ordering materials, coordinating subcontractors, and keeping the customer informed.
- Work with the Service Operations Manager, dispatch, and field technicians to make sure jobs get done on time, on budget, and to scope.
- Track project costs and protect the margin on every job.
- Handle issues as they come up — technical, scheduling, or customer — and bring in leadership when needed.
- Close out projects with a final walkthrough, customer sign-off, and warranty handoff.
Account Management
- Be the main point of contact for your accounts.
- Build long-term relationships that drive repeat service work and future projects.
- Check in regularly with customers to find new opportunities and make sure they’re happy with the work.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC sales or project management.
- Solid technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment — rooftop units, splits, boilers, chillers, controls, and the like.
- Ability to price and quote service jobs accurately, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
- Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and equipment specs.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You can hold your own with a facility manager, an owner, or a technician in the field.
- Well organized, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and proposals at once.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office. Experience with a CRM or service management platform (ServiceTitan, BuildOps, or similar) is a plus.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a clean driving record.
