Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
- Administer treatments including injections, IV infusions, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and esthetic laser procedures.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing sonography, laboratory testing, and medical imaging techniques; interpret results accurately.
- Provide patient education on disease management, medication administration, nutrition, and health coaching strategies.
- Document all patient interactions comprehensively within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU units for complex case management and discharge planning.
- Assist in procedures requiring sterile techniques such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, or tube feeding management.
- Manage triage responsibilities in urgent care or emergency room environments to prioritize patient needs efficiently.
- Support telehealth initiatives by providing remote consultations and follow-up care using telemedicine platforms.
Experience
- Proven clinical experience working in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine, hospital medicine (including ICU or PICU), or urgent care clinics.
- Demonstrated expertise in specialized areas including gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, or occupational health.
- Hands-on experience with medical office systems like Athenahealth or Cerner EMR/EHR platforms; proficient in CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Critical care experience within Level II or Level I trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Skilled in performing procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections.
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to psychopharmacology and pain management; capable of managing complex medication regimens.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric patients (pediatrics), elderly individuals (geriatrics), those with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining safety standards.
