Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support the smooth operation of our clinic. Experience with Open Dental is preferred. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment specializing in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are followed
- Take and develop dental X-rays using medical imaging equipment and 3D scanners as needed
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation and records
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices using proper dental terminology
- Maintain sterilization of instruments and ensure the clinic adheres to infection control standards
- Support administrative tasks including dental reception duties, insurance processing, and medical coding when necessary
- Assist with four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures
- Monitor patient comfort and provide chairside assistance throughout treatments
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy compliance
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately; certification in radiography is preferred
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, organizational skills, and a compassionate approach toward patient care

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
