Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process retail sales transactions and handle cash, credit, or debit payments with care.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service by answering questions, assisting with product demos, and guiding shoppers through their purchase decisions.
- Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for customers.
- Upsell products by highlighting features and benefits to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Assist in merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented to attract customers.
- Support inventory management through stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and alerting management of low inventory levels.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential.
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Proven ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions involving discounts or returns.
- Experience supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required; leadership qualities are valued.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques, product demos, and upselling strategies will set you apart.
- Ability to maintain professionalism with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills at all times.
