Goldstar Construction & Developers is seeking a motivated, creative, and highly organized Project Coordinator & Design Assistant to join our growing team.
This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to build a career at the intersection of interior design, residential construction, and project management. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to turn ideas and field measurements into professional drawings, renderings, and organized project documentation.
You will work closely with the owner and our construction team on residential renovations, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and full-home remodeling projects, helping take projects from initial concept and design through construction and completion.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and coordination of multiple residential renovation and remodeling projects
- Create and update floor plans, elevations, construction drawings, and detailed project drawings
- Develop 3D models and realistic renderings to help clients visualize proposed designs
- Assist with kitchen, bathroom, basement, and whole-home interior layouts
- Take field measurements and accurately translate measurements into drawings and design concepts
- Assist clients with selecting finishes, fixtures, tile, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, paint colors, and other materials
- Prepare client-facing design presentations and project selection sheets
- Maintain organized records of client selections, specifications, drawings, and approvals
- Assist with project schedules, material selections, ordering, and vendor coordination
- Communicate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
- Help ensure project drawings and designs are consistent with approved plans and project specifications
- Assist with basic building-code research and construction documentation
- Visit active job sites when necessary to verify dimensions, conditions, and project progress
- Help develop and maintain standardized company design templates, specifications, and project documentation
- Support the owner and project management team with day-to-day project coordination and administrative responsibilities
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Chief Architect, or similar design/drafting software
- Ability to create professional floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings
- Strong understanding of space planning, dimensions, scale, and residential layouts
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating professionally with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members
- Ability and willingness to visit active construction sites
- Understanding of residential construction and renovation practices is a plus
- Knowledge of cabinetry, tile, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and interior finishes is a plus
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Canva, or similar presentation software is a plus
Education & Experience
A degree or coursework in one of the following is preferred:
- Interior Design
- Architecture
- Construction Management
- Architectural Technology
- Drafting / CAD
- Related design or construction field
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Professional experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates strong design ability, organization, professionalism, and a genuine desire to learn.
