As a vital member of our staff, you will partner closely with residents and the supervising Physical Therapist to deliver exceptional therapy services. Your primary goal is to maximize our residents' function and independence in their daily activities, promoting a comfortable living environment where they can engage, remain active, and truly enjoy their time with us.
Essential PTA Responsibilities: Delivering Patient-Centered Care
You will play a crucial role in our Rehabilitation and Skilled Medical Care programs by:
- Providing Directed Treatment: Perform therapeutic procedures under the order of a physician and following the evaluation by the supervising therapist, adhering strictly to all protocols, precautions, indications, and contraindications.
- Executing Care Plans: Treat residents according to the established therapeutic plan of care, ensuring the inclusion of functional long- and short-term goals, frequency, duration, and therapeutic modalities.
- Collaboration & Communication: Seek input from the resident and primary caregivers, incorporating their information into treatment sessions. Promptly bring any problems, questions, or status changes to the evaluating therapist.
- Monitoring & Documentation: Monitor the treatment effect, progress the program toward established goals (in consultation with the evaluating therapist), and document all therapeutic interactions accurately and on a timely basis per department procedures.
- Equipment & Education: Recommend and obtain appropriate assistive devices for residents, ensuring thorough instruction (written, verbal, and/or demonstration) is provided to both the resident and caregiver.
- Compliance: Understands and complies with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement regulations.

What You'll Bring
Education & Licensure Requirements (Must Haves):
- Associate Degree (required)
- PT Assistant License (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility (preferred)
