Overview
Join our 10 fleet transportation team as a Dispatcher, where you'll play a vital role in coordinating and managing road transportation operations to ensure seamless logistics and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Coordinate vehicle dispatching to our 10 trucks by assigning freight loads efficiently using transportation management systems such as DAT Load Board or vehicle dispatch software.
- Communicate clearly with drivers via WhatsApp, phone or text to provide route instructions, updates, and support throughout their shifts.
- Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries aligned with transportation planning strategies.
- Manage incoming communications from customers, brokers, and internal teams with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Maintain accurate data entry of shipment details, delivery schedules, and driver logs while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Collaborate with logistics teams on freight shipping & receiving schedules, fleet management, and 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination to streamline supply chain processes.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and report findings to management for strategic planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience in road transportation operations, dispatching, or logistics management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as DAT Load Board or similar vehicle dispatch software.
- Familiarity with GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning tools to enhance route optimization.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively across multiple communication channels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry and reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to freight transport and vehicle safety compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills paired with professional phone call management and phone etiquette.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
