Job Opportunity: HAAS 510 + Production Saw Operator
Location: Columbus, OH (or surrounding areas)
Are you a skilled operator with experience in milling and production saw work? Join our team and contribute to our machine shop's success by running both the HAAS 510 and production saw for optimal output and results. This is a dynamic role with opportunities for on-the-job training and cross-training.
Daily Job Functions:
- Set up and operate HAAS 510 and production saws.
- Load materials and unload products.
- Retrieve programs and ensure proper execution.
- Perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and inspection reporting.
- Perform lifting, stacking, and troubleshooting tasks with quick resolution.
- Work in tandem with experienced associates to ensure efficient operations.
Required Skill Sets:
- 2-3 years of milling experience and production saw work.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret prints.
- Proficiency in changing fixtures, part programs, setups, and tools.
- Knowledge of tool heights and mechanical principles.
- Proficiency in using power and hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with regularity.
- Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, reach, pull, and push during an 8-hour shift.
- Attention to detail and fine tactical ability.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Experience with pallet jacks and/or forklifts preferred.
- Reliable and dependable attendance record.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Computer experience with Word, Excel, and business software systems.
Preferred:
- Experience in a job shop environment.
- Previous metal or fabrication experience, including hardware insertion, deburring, finishing, press brakes, stud/spot welding, powder coating, paint prep, etc.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and procedures.
- Forklift experience (helpful but not required).
- Candidate residing in Columbus or surrounding areas with reliable transportation.
