Duties
- Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs, including special education requirements.
- Implement instructional strategies that incorporate educational technology, learning tools, and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational data; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and special education coordinators—to support student development.
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques tailored for students with disabilities or behavioral challenges.
- Facilitate communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, IEP goals, and behavioral strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, assessments, IEP documentation, and compliance with educational regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field in early childhood and elementary education preferred.
- Proven experience working with children or students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or visual/hearing impairments.
- Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and educational compliance standards.
- Skilled in classroom management, behavior intervention strategies, and applying applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and instructional design for diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, independence, and social-emotional growth.
