The salary for this position is at $23.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
The Child Care Assistant Program Director is responsible for assisting the Child Care Program Director/District Supervisor. with the overall operations of a YMCA Early Childhood Learning Center/ Preschool Program center and providing quality experiences for children that focus on the YMCA core values of, caring, equity, honesty respect and responsibility They directly supervise childcare staff.
- Assist in managing all classrooms at the center and ensuring compliance with YMCA policies and procedures including MN DHS Rule 3, Wisconsin HFS46 and NAEYC Accreditation and Parent Aware Standards.

Assist in the development and implementation of the program curriculum and program activities.

Recruit, hire, develop and supervise staff teams.

Practice continuous quality improvement, evaluating programs and implementing changes as needed.

Complete administration work as required for center operations.

Assist the Child Care Program Director/District Supervisor in reaching enrollment and revenue goals.

Maintains CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health Licensing for meals and snacks, if applicable.

Works hands-on to meet ratio requirements.

Assist with meal preparation, distribution and clean up

Maintain positive relationships with outside partners

Supports equity and inclusion in all aspects of program

Ability to participate in all indoor and outdoor activities
This position reports to the Child Care Program Director/District Supervisor. The incumbent maintains positive and professional relationships with participants, parents, and staff.
Required:
-
Minimum age of 21.

Minimum of two (2) years leading youth programs.

Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.

Meet Minnesota DHS Rule 3 or Wisconsin HFS 46 Teacher qualifications, including yearly in service requirements.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid, and AED Certifications within 30 days of hire date.

Commitment to working with children and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.

Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred:
-
Degree in education/recreation or related field.

Education or experience in child development, child guidance, human relations, communication, or recreational programs.

Bi-lingual.
- Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities, including lifting, bending and standing for a prolonged period of time.

Ability to travel locally to YMCA branches and other program sites

Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.

May provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, feeding, and getting in or out of transportation.

May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the child care environment

Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule to meet program needs
