DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.

Maintenance operations include external grounds maintenance as seasonally appropriate and necessary to maintain safety.

Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.

Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.

Completion of monthly checklists for building and grounds maintenance and vehicle maintenance logs.

Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.

Performs routine maintenance on building systems.

Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

Maintain confidentiality for all information regarding clients, staff, and GCLC obtained as a result of employment at GCLC.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or high school equivalent is required.

At least one (1) year of experience in janitorial, maintenance work, construction and/or plumbing.

Must pass CYFD/FBI fingerprint clearance check to maintain employment.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must pass and maintain Driving Record clearance in accordance with GCLC policies and procedures.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) both verbal and written is preferred, but not required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.

Must comply with all applicable OSHA and other regulatory safety requirements in the operation of such tools.

Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
-
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical work is a primary part of job including prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.

Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with passengers.
