Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and a passion for maintaining and improving the performance of heavy-duty vehicles. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The Diesel Mechanic will work primarily on diesel-powered equipment, contributing to the overall reliability of our fleet.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Perform maintenance on tractor-trailer systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct air brake inspections and repairs to maintain optimal braking performance.
- Execute brake repairs, including both hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carry out automotive repairs as needed, utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Work with Caterpillar engines and related components to ensure proper functionality.
- Utilize welding skills for repairs on various equipment as required.
- Conduct equipment repair tasks, including alignment adjustments to enhance vehicle performance.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
Skills
- Proficient in diesel engine repair with hands-on experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of tractor-trailer systems and air brake mechanisms.
- Experience in brake repair, automotive repair, and general maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar engines is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to weld and perform minor fabrication tasks as needed.
- Competence in equipment repair and alignment techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 55 – 60 per week
